Abstract

The current study aims to measure and analyze the impact of using management by objectives (MBO) in its dimensions (participation, commitment, trust between supervisors and subordinates, and feedback) on employee performance at the Family Care Platform Information Technology Company in Riyadh. The study relied on a descriptive analytical approach, and employed a questionnaire as the primary tool for collecting data from a sample of 40 employees at the Family Care Platform Information Technology Company in Riyadh. The study reached several results, the most notable of which are the following: The company's application of management by objectives (MBO) was high, with an arithmetic mean of 2.71. The results also demonstrated a high level of employee performance, with an arithmetic mean of 2.86. The results also revealed a positive, but moderate, and statistically significant, relationship in the dimensions of trust between supervisors and subordinates and participation in goal setting. Meanwhile, a positive, but weak, and statistically insignificant relationship was found in the dimensions of subordinates' commitment to achieving goals and improving employee performance, and feedback between supervisors and subordinates and improving employee performance. The study recommended the need to strengthen the application of the MBO approach by encouraging employees to freely participate in setting goals and further enhancing trust between supervisors and subordinates. The study also recommended developing and enhancing the company's work environment, including all its components, to motivate employees and encourage their participation, given its significant impact on improving employee performance.
