Strategic Vigilance and Its Role in the Growth of Entrepreneurial Projects: An Applied Study on Almarai Company

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the degree of application of strategic vigilance in Almarai Company from the point of view of its employees, to identify the level of development of entrepreneurial projects in Almarai Company from the point of view of its employees, and to reveal the role of strategic vigilance on the growth of entrepreneurial projects in Almarai Company. To achieve these objectives, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, and also used the questionnaire as a tool to achieve the objectives of his study. The study community consisted of Almarai Company employees in Riyadh, numbering more than (40 thousand employees), while the study sample was a simple random sample numbering (120) employees. The results revealed that strategic vigilance is largely applied in Almarai Company from the point of view of its employees. The results also showed that competitive vigilance came in first place, followed by commercial vigilance and then technological vigilance, while environmental vigilance came in last place. The results showed that the study sample members largely agreed with the level of development of entrepreneurial projects in Almarai Company from the point of view of its employees. The results also revealed the existence of a statistically significant direct relationship between the application of strategic vigilance and the growth of entrepreneurial projects in Almarai Company. This result indicates that the higher the degree of application of strategic vigilance, the higher the level of growth of entrepreneurial projects in Almarai Company. In light of these results, it was recommended to spread awareness among managers and employees of public and private sector companies about the importance and role of applying strategic vigilance in the growth of entrepreneurial projects, and to hold training courses in the field of applying strategic vigilance and project management for managers and employees of private sector companies to ensure the quality and success of projects.
