The Impact of Ethical Leadership and Its Dimensions on Employee Performance in the Government Sector: An Applied Study in the Makkah Region

The study aimed to provide insights into the impact of ethical leadership on improving employee performance efficiency in government agencies in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region. The study focused on analyzing the effectiveness of applying ethical leadership in these agencies and exploring the role of ethical leadership dimensions (integrity, justice, role clarity, and power sharing) in enhancing job performance. The descriptive-analytical approach was used, with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The study sample amounted to (387) employees in the government sector. The results showed a positive and statistically significant impact of ethical leadership in its dimensions on employee performance efficiency, as it represents a fundamental axis and an important factor linked to enhancing employee performance efficiency within the government sector in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region. This connection indicates the importance of adopting ethical behaviors and practices in the work environment due to the positive employee performance they achieve. The application of ethical leadership contributes to raising the level of trust between leaders and employees, developing a healthy work environment, and increasing motivation and productivity. The study recommended developing training programs related to adopting the concept of ethical leadership and activating effective employee participation in decision-making, while setting clear criteria for performance evaluation
