This study aims to explore teachers' awareness of the concept of cybersecurity and its relationship to implementing modern strategies to protect students from online digital risks, as well as ways to promote national values and identity among students. The study sample consisted of 104 male and female teachers from public and private schools in Taif. A descriptive correlational approach was used, where a scale was developed to measure teachers' level of cybersecurity awareness, in addition to evaluating their methods for protecting students from online risks and promoting national values.
The results showed that teachers possess a high level of awareness of cybersecurity, particularly regarding protecting personal and mobile devices from cyberattacks. They also demonstrated that they rely on various methods to protect students from online risks and promote national identity, through educational objectives, teaching methods, school activities, and projects, as well as various assessment methods.
The study also found a positive and moderate relationship between teachers' level of cybersecurity awareness and their use of methods to protect students from the internet, as well as to promote national values and identity. Furthermore, the results did not reveal any statistically significant differences between teachers regarding cybersecurity awareness or student protection methods based on school type. However, statistically significant differences were observed in the methods used to promote national values
in favor of teachers in public schools compared to private schools. Furthermore, the study did not reveal any significant differences in responses related to cybersecurity, student protection, or promoting national values based on gender, specialization, academic qualification, or years of teaching experience.
