The Impact of Modern Technology on Improving the Performance of Supply Chains and Creating Competitive Opportunities (A Descriptive Study on the Integration of the Government and Private Sectors through “Etimad” Platform)

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the impact of modern technology, encompassing its dimensions (hardware elements, software elements, technical and support services, communication networks, and databases), on improving supply chain performance across its dimensions (suppliers, customers, and operations). This was examined through the integration of the government and private sectors under the cover of the "Etimad" platform. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, deemed suitable for this research, utilizing a questionnaire as the primary tool for data collection. The study sample consisted of distributing (160) questionnaires to the target population. The results indicated a statistically significant impact of modern technology on enhancing supply chain performance. The study recommended the necessity of applying information technology (modern technology) across all sectors to elevate service quality, enhance competitiveness, and attract qualified competencies to fulfill required tasks. Additionally, the "Etimad" platform should formulate flexible strategies that respond to rapid and significant technological developments.
