Abstract

Objectives:
This study aimed to examine the role of e-learning platforms in enhancing leadership competencies among  private primary-school teachers in Riyadh. It sought to identify the key leadership competencies required for teachers, explore the challenges they face in utilizing e-learning platforms, and propose practical solutions to support the development of leadership performance within digital learning environments.

Methodology:
The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach appropriate to the nature of the research. The study population consisted of primary-grade teachers in private schools in Riyadh. A simple random sample of 100 male and female teachers was selected. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire designed to measure teachers’ perceptions of the role of e-learning platforms in developing leadership competencies.

Results:
The findings indicated that teachers acknowledged the importance of e-learning platforms in supporting leadership competencies, particularly in decision-making, work organization, and planning. The findings revealed a high level of effectiveness of these platforms in the practical application of leadership competencies. This suggests the presence of a gap between the available technological capabilities of e-learning platforms and the actual level of leadership practice within classroom settings.

Conclusion:
The study concluded that it is essential to integrate digital leadership skills into teachers’ performance standards, adopt participatory leadership models through digital platforms, and enhance teachers’ awareness of e-learning platforms as tools for professional and leadership development. Additionally, the study emphasized the importance of supporting knowledge sharing among teachers through digital learning networks to strengthen leadership competencies and improve educational practices.
